In the recent past, The Cordoba Foundation has had a couple of dubious connections. For instance, in October 2011, it was to organize an event with the London Muslim Centre, launching two bits of research into “Islamophobia”. The event had to be cancelled on short notice, however, because one of the key speakers, Robert Lambert, had been unmasked as a police spy, who had spent 5 years infiltrating a non-violent Green anarchist group, during the course of which, he had a relationship with a completely politically uninvolved woman, who he wooed by pretending to be an animal rights activist on the run.

One year earlier, Bob Lambert hat appeared on the Iranian channel Press TV where he defended the eminent preacher Yusuf Qaradawi who is usually regarded as close to the Muslim Brotherhood and who is banned from entering the UK. Robert Lambert is allegedly also working for the European Muslim Research Centre at the University of Exeter.

Since 2008, the funding policies of Durham University have repeatedly been criticized. The allegations had been triggered by controversial donations from Libyan dictator Muammar al-Gaddafi to LSE. In turn, other British universities were faced with allegations concerning funds from Middle Eastern autocracies. Continue Reading
