In the recent past, The Cordoba Foundation has had a couple of dubious connections. For instance, in October 2011, it was to organize an event with the London Muslim Centre, launching two bits of research into “Islamophobia”. The event had to be cancelled on short notice, however, because one of the key speakers, Robert Lambert, had been unmasked as a police spy, who had spent 5 years infiltrating a non-violent Green anarchist group, during the course of which, he had a relationship with a completely politically uninvolved woman, who he wooed by pretending to be an animal rights activist on the run.

One year earlier, Bob Lambert hat appeared on the Iranian channel Press TV where he defended the eminent preacher Yusuf Qaradawi who is usually regarded as close to the Muslim Brotherhood and who is banned from entering the UK. Robert Lambert is allegedly also working for the European Muslim Research Centre at the University of Exeter.

“Siding with the Oppressor: The Pro-Islamist Left” by John Miller has been written as a companion “Enemies not Allies: The Far-Right” to highlight some of the individuals  and groups on the Left that defend Islamism. The report focuses on the most conspicuous examples of the pro-Islamist Left in Britain, i.e. Stop the War Coalition, Respect Party, Unite  Against Fascism and individuals such as Ken Livingstone and George Galloway.

It exposes their agenda and methods, including the use of accusations of racism and Islamophobia and their conflation of Muslim with Islamist in order to defend Islamism rather than out of any real concern for prejudice against Muslims or the rights of ‘Muslims’ who are incidentally the first victims of Islamism.
