In the recent past, The Cordoba Foundation has had a couple of dubious connections. For instance, in October 2011, it was to organize an event with the London Muslim Centre, launching two bits of research into “Islamophobia”. The event had to be cancelled on short notice, however, because one of the key speakers, Robert Lambert, had been unmasked as a police spy, who had spent 5 years infiltrating a non-violent Green anarchist group, during the course of which, he had a relationship with a completely politically uninvolved woman, who he wooed by pretending to be an animal rights activist on the run.
One year earlier, Bob Lambert hat appeared on the Iranian channel Press TV where he defended the eminent preacher Yusuf Qaradawi who is usually regarded as close to the Muslim Brotherhood and who is banned from entering the UK. Robert Lambert is allegedly also working for the European Muslim Research Centre at the University of Exeter.
The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Watch reported on January 27 that Anas al-Tikriti, a senior member of the UK Muslim Brotherhood, was part of a meeting between President Obama and Osama Al-Nujaifi, Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives…In interviews, Tikriti has expressed support for “the right of the Iraqis to engage in legitimate resistance against foreign occupation”, even if that means killing British and American soldiers. He also supports Hamas, which he says “supports democracy” and should not be regarded as a terrorist organisation.
The European Muslim Research Centre (EMRC) at the University of Exeter was launched in 2009 and describes its purpose as “to produce high quality, long-term empirical research on the experience of Muslims in European towns and cities.” Its first and – so far – last product was a January 2010 research report titled “Islamophobia and Anti-Muslim Hate Crime: a London case study.” Particularly well-connected members of the EMRC Advisory Board are:
Muhammad Abdul Bari who is the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, a UK umbrella group dominated by the Jamaat-E-Islami and that acts in concert with the UK Muslim Brotherhood. Continue Reading
